Maandalio ya moyo ni ya mwanadamu; Bali jawabu la ulimi hutoka kwa Bwana. Mithali 16:1

The plans of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh.

Njia zote za mtu ni safi machoni pake mwenyewe; Bali Bwana huzipima roho za watu. Mithali 16:2

All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; But Yahweh weighs the motives.

Mkabidhi Bwana kazi zako, Na mawazo yako yatathibitika. Mithali 16:3

Commit your deeds to Yahweh, And your plans shall succeed.

Bwana amefanya kila kitu kwa kusudi lake; Naam, hata wabaya kwa siku ya ubaya. Mithali 16:4

Yahweh has made everything for its own end-- Yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Kila mwenye moyo wa kiburi ni chukizo kwa Bwana; Hakika, hatakosa adhabu. Mithali 16:5

Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahweh: They shall assuredly not be unpunished.

Kwa rehema na kweli uovu husafishwa; Kwa kumcha Bwana watu hujiepusha na maovu. Mithali 16:6

By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of Yahweh men depart from evil.

Njia za mtu zikimpendeza Bwana, Hata adui zake huwapatanisha naye. Mithali 16:7

When a man's ways please Yahweh, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Afadhali mali kidogo pamoja na haki, Kuliko mapato mengi pamoja na udhalimu. Mithali 16:8

Better is a little with righteousness, Than great revenues with injustice.

Moyo wa mtu huifikiri njia yake; Bali Bwana huziongoza hatua zake. Mithali 16:9

A man's heart plans his course, But Yahweh directs his steps.

Kukata maneno huwa katika midomo ya mfalme; Kinywa chake hakitakosa katika hukumu. Mithali 16:10

Inspired judgments are on the lips of the king. He shall not betray his mouth.

Mizani ya haki na vitanga vyake ni vya Bwana; Mawe yote ya mfukoni ni kazi yake. Mithali 16:11

Honest balances and scales are Yahweh's; All the weights in the bag are his work.

Wafalme wakitenda yasiyo haki ni chukizo; Maana kiti cha enzi huthibitika kwa haki. Mithali 16:12

It is an abomination for kings to do wrong, For the throne is established by righteousness.

Midomo ya haki ni furaha ya wafalme; Nao humpenda yeye asemaye yaliyo sawa. Mithali 16:13

Righteous lips are the delight of kings. They value one who speaks the truth.

Hasira ya mfalme ni kama wajumbe wa mauti; Lakini mtu mwenye hekima ataituliza. Mithali 16:14

The king's wrath is a messenger of death, But a wise man will pacify it.

Kuna uhai katika nuru ya uso wa mfalme, Na fadhili zake ni kama wingu la masika. Mithali 16:15

In the light of the king's face is life. His favor is like a cloud of the spring rain.

Si afadhali kupata hekima kuliko dhahabu? Naam, yafaa kuchagua ufahamu kuliko fedha. Mithali 16:16

How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

Njia kuu ya mwenye haki ni kujitenga na uovu; Yeye ashikaye njia yake huihifadhi nafsi yake. Mithali 16:17

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil. He who keeps his way preserves his soul.

Kiburi hutangulia uangamivu; Na roho yenye kutakabari hutangulia maanguko. Mithali 16:18

Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Afadhali kuwa na roho ya unyenyekevu pamoja na maskini, Kuliko kugawanya nyara pamoja na wenye kiburi. Mithali 16:19

It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, Than to divide the plunder with the proud.

Atakayelitafakari neno atapata mema; Na kila amwaminiye Bwana ana heri. Mithali 16:20

He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Yahweh is blessed.

Aliye na hekima moyoni ataitwa mwenye busara; Utamu wa maneno huongeza elimu. Mithali 16:21

The wise in heart shall be called prudent. Pleasantness of the lips promotes instruction.

Ufahamu ni chemchemi ya uzima kwake aliye nao; Bali kufundishwa kwa wapumbavu ni upuzi wao. Mithali 16:22

Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it, But the punishment of fools is their folly.

Moyo wake mwenye hekima hufundisha kinywa chake; Huzidisha elimu ya midomo yake. Mithali 16:23

The heart of the wise instructs his mouth, And adds learning to his lips.

Maneno yapendezayo ni kama sega la asali; Ni tamu nafsini, na afya mifupani. Mithali 16:24

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Iko njia ionekanayo kuwa sawa machoni pa mtu; Lakini mwisho wake ni njia za mauti. Mithali 16:25

There is a way which seems right to a man, But in the end it leads to death.

Nafsi yake mfanya kazi hujifanyia kazi; Maana kinywa chake humtia bidii. Mithali 16:26

The appetite of the laboring man labors for him; For his mouth urges him on.

Mtu asiyefaa kitu huchimba shimo la madhara; Katika midomo yake mna moto uteketezao. Mithali 16:27

A worthless man devises mischief. His speech is like a scorching fire.

Mtu mshupavu huondokesha fitina; Na mchongezi huwafarakanisha rafiki. Mithali 16:28

A perverse man stirs up strife. A whisperer separates close friends.

Mtu mkali humshawishi mwenzake; Humwongoza katika njia isiyo njema. Mithali 16:29

A man of violence entices his neighbor, And leads him in a way that is not good.

Afumbaye macho, kusudi lake ni kuwaza yaliyopotoka; Aikazaye midomo yake hutokeza mabaya. Mithali 16:30

One who winks his eyes to plot perversities, One who compresses his lips, is bent on evil.

Kichwa chenye mvi ni taji ya utukufu, Kama kikionekana katika njia ya haki. Mithali 16:31

Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is attained by a life of righteousness.

Asiye mwepesi wa hasira ni mwema kuliko shujaa; Na mtu aitawalaye roho yake kuliko mtu atekaye mji. Mithali 16:32

One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; One who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.

Kura hutupwa katika mikunjo ya nguo; Lakini hukumu zake zote ni za Bwana. Mithali 16:33

The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision is from Yahweh.
